TCM Wellness–Yang Sheng Certificate
Program
This program is conducted in regular evening and weekend classes
over several weeks. It is open to the general public and designed
for those interested in the maintenance of wellness and improvement
of basic health conditions according to the principles of Traditional
Chinese Medicine. Those completing the program will be able to
offer consultations in the areas of diet therepy, Chinese massage
and Feng Shui.
Total Hours: 200 to 300 per semester
Tuition: $2600 to $3900
+ $150 application fee

Course Descriptions
100A Foundations and Theory of TCM
(45 hrs)
- Yang Sheng and Feng Shui focus on prevention and control
of disease causative factors.
- Basic Theory of Zang Fu organs and meridians.
- Causes of disease in TCM; external and internal factors.
- Yin Yang and five element theory.
100B Foundations and Theory of TCM
(16 hrs)
- Feng Shui focuses on environmental prevention and control
of disease causative factors.
101 Communication Skills & Ethics for
Consulting (4 hrs)
- Ethics of TCM Yang Sheng and Feng Shui consultant.
- Communication skills with clients.
102 Qi Gong Meditation (10 hrs)
- Qi Gong breath control in sitting meditation.
- Qi Gong standing meditation.
- Qi Gong moving meditation.
103 Tui Na Theory and Practicum
(45 hrs theory / 60 hrs practicum)
- Basic Tui Na theory.
- Basic Tui Na techniques.
104 TCM Diet for Longevity (20
hrs)
- Basic concept of TCM diet.
- TCM diet energy, flavor, and actions.
- Foods for prevention of illness and balance of the body,
mind, and spirit.
- Introduction of commonly used recipes for well being.
105 Terminology of TCM and Chinese Language
Brief introduction to Chinese language in
pinyin writing and the spoken form, as well as commonly-used TCM
terms.
105F Terminology of TCM for foreign language
speakers
Same as the above, but with an emphasis on describing commonly-used
TCM terms in English.
