Dr. Wally Mui, Ph.D., Dr.TCM, Principal, Professor, Founder of ICTCM, Victoria
Dr. Mui is the founder of the International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Victoria, Canada (ICTCM, Victoria). Dr. Mui is a third generation Traditional Chinese Medicine Doctor, originally from Canton, China. He was granted his Ph.D. in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) from Guangzhou University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China, specializing in acupuncture. He has been teaching a successful Traditional Chinese Medicine program suitable for western students for over 23 years in Victoria. Dr. Mui has over 23 years of clinical experience treating a variety of diseases with Traditional Chinese Medicine in Canada. He has many years of clinical expertise and is one of the few doctors combining both acupuncture and herbology. His clinical skills in Acupuncture, Qi Gong and Herbology have attracted many students to do internships with him. Dr Mui created the first 5-year Doctor program of TCM in Canada at his college in Victoria. Dr Mui is one of the founding members of TCMA of B.C.

Dr. Kevin K. Hu, Ph.D., R.TCM.P.
Academic Dean of ICTCM, Victoria

Dr. Kevin K. Hu is a registered acupuncturist and herbalist with over twenty years clinical experience in China and Canada. In 1986, after graduating from the five-year TCM program at the Hubei College of TCM, he started his career in the Changhang General Hospital, one of the biggest public hospitals in Wuhan (the capital city of Hubei province). He worked as a doctor of integrated Chinese and Western medicine, successfully treating walk-in and hospitalized patients with various diseases, chronic and acute, simple and complicated.
In 1994, he enrolled at the Guangzhou University of TCM, a noted university in China, to further his training in clinical research. Six years later, he obtained his Ph.D. (in TCM) and became a professor of the university, responsible for training international students seeking high level education in acupuncture and herbology. He is author of a number of medical books and research papers published in China. He has practiced and taught acupuncture and herbal medicine since immigrating to Canada in 2004.
Currently he teaches basic and advanced TCM courses, and practices TCM at ICTCM, Victoria and Saanich Centre. Dr. Hu would like to assist you to regain health of the body and mind with his sound medical knowledge and rich experience.

Dr. Jaime de Melo, B.Sc., ND
Dr. de Melo is a graduate of the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine and has practiced as a Naturopathic Doctor in Ontario and British Columbia since 2004. He instructs interactive classes in Surface Anatomy at the ICTCM.

 

Y.K.Yau, R.TCM.P.
Graduating from the University of Hong Kong, Mr. Yau holds a Bachelor of Chinese Medicine and is a Registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner in Hong Kong. Mr. Yau currently runs The Spring Wellbeing Clinic of Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Victoria. Mr. Yau has a special interest in Pain management and Arthritis.

 
Dr. Ganglin Yin, MD (China), Dr.TCM., L.Ac.,
Guest Professor
Dr. Yin has an MD in Traditional Chinese Medicine (HUTCM) and a Masters degree in TCM from Hunan University of China.
From 1985 to 1992, Dr. Yin was Associate Professor of Acupuncture at HUTCM. From 1993 to 1996, he was the chief doctor in the Chinese Acupuncture-Massage Specialist Group and clinic of HUTCM in Russia. From 1997 to 1999, he was professor and academic dean of International College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Victoria, Canada. In 2000, he was professor and faculty dean of Atlantic Institute of Oriental Medicine, Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, USA.
Dr. Yin has published 4 books on acupuncture and herbology. Titles include Advanced Modern Chinese Acupuncture Therapy - A Practical Handbook for Intermediate and Advanced Study. Dr. Yin is a Registered Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine (R.D.TCM) in the province of BC, Canada and a Licensed Acupuncturist (L.Ac.) in Florida, USA. Dr. Yin also operates an acupuncture and herbology clinical practice at Oshio College.

 
Dr. Wenjun Dai, R.Ac., TCMD, MD (China), PhD, Guest Professor
Dr. Dai graduated from Guangzhou University of TCM in China in 1992. He has a Ph.D. degree in acupuncture and massage, and is a member of the China Acupuncture Association. He has more than 14 years of clinical experience in acupuncture, massage and herbal medicine in the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM. He was an associated professor of Guangzhou University of TCM, teaching international students and supervising their clinical practice. He was the chief editor and coauthor of more than ten acupuncture and Chinese medicine books in Chinese and English. He has conducted research in acupuncture, and has had research papers published in journals. He had been a guest professor lecturing in the U.S., Chile, and Hong Kong. We have also been happy to have him as a guest professor at the ICTCM, Victoria lecturing on modern acupuncture microsystem techniques of the wrist and ankle, as well as the eye.

Dr. Michael Greenwood, M.D., Guest Professor
Dr. Greenwood was born in Singapore and came to Canada in 1954 at the age of five. He was trained at St. John¡¯s University, Cambridge and St. Mary¡¯s Hospital, London University, and then interned at the Royal Jubilee Hospital in Victoria, B.C. He worked as a country General Practitioner for a year in rural Australia. Dr. Greenwood¡¯s background and experience as well as his understanding of Chinese Medicine provide an alternative perspective on complementary medicine. His insight is making a fine contribution to helping amalgamate medicine of the East and the West.

 
Dr. Viktor Benedek, M.D., Guest Professor
Dr. Benedek received a Medical Diploma with honors from Medical High School in Beregovo, Soviet Union, in 1973. From 1975 to 1977, he studied in Public Medical University. In 1982, he received his Medical Doctor¡¯s degree in St. Gyorgyi Albert University of Medical Sciences, Szeged, Hungary. Dr. Benedek excels at teaching Human Anatomy, Physiology, Pathophysiology, and Medical Terminology.

 
Dr. Marlin Wilson, Dr.TCM
Dr. Wilson graduated from ICTCM, Victoria in 1997. He has been running a successful TCM practice in Victoria since 1998, incorporating music therapy in his clinic. He instructs Tui Na massage at the ICTCM.

 
Dr. Heidi Lescanec, ND
Graduating from the National College of Natural Medicine in Portland, Oregon in 2002, Dr. Lescanec has practiced as a Naturopathic Doctor in British Columbia since 2003, and is now avidly studying acupuncture at ICTCM as an adjunct to her practice. She is a natural at teaching Western science courses.

 
Bryan Hardy, R.TCM.P., Instructor
Bryan Hardy earned his Diploma as a TCM Practitioner here at ICTCM, Victoria with an internship in the Tianjin TCM College Affiliated Teaching Hospital, China. Besides instructing at ICTCM he also co-runs and practices at the busy Kangren Clinic of Traditional Chinese Medicine in downtown Victoria. 

 
Maggie Yip, R.TCM.P., Instructor
Maggie Yip earned her Diploma as a TCM Practitioner here at ICTCM, Victoria with an internship in the Tianjin TCM College Affiliated Teaching Hospital, China. She currently co-runs and practices Chinese Medicine at the Kangren Clinic and the Brentwood Bay Chiropractic Clinic.  Having studied Western Herbology before coming to the college, she understands the cross-corelation between western and Chinese herbs.  As well, she brings a focus on the spirit of the points and the psycho-emotional aspects of acupuncture into the classroom.
